Located in the heart of Thiruvananthapuram, near the bustling East Fort, the Pazhavangadi Sree Maha Ganapathy Temple is one of the most famous and sacred temples dedicated to Lord Ganesha in Kerala. The temple’s presiding deity, Lord Maha Ganapathy, is worshipped in a unique sitting posture with the right leg folded and the left leg resting on the ground — symbolizing wisdom, calmness, and divine strength.

The temple was originally maintained by the soldiers of the Travancore Army, and today it is under the administration of the Indian Army. Thousands of devotees visit the temple daily, especially during Vinayaka Chaturthi, to seek blessings for success, prosperity, and the removal of obstacles.
